Chapter One

Chapter One of the campaign was focused on two short sessions on Aanvang Island in order to start to get a 'feel' for how the party dynamics would work and to iron out any problems with the campaign setting. Before the first session there was an 'offline' Pre-Session to determine how everyone had met.

Pre-Session 1

Date: 11th Novembus 343IC

At the great halls of learning in Academia students from across the Merebian Empire have returned after the long Summer break.

During this Summer though Lady Scylla Abraxas, accompanied by her bodyguard Myles Freeman advertise for adventurers to assist her in her goal. This is answered by Gnarvak Underheim and Jeremiah Fizzlebang, a member of the Library faculty, whose aims broadly align with that of Scylla.

What aims are these? Scylla desired to learn more about the nature of demons and her old tutor, Professor Harpax Caldus, suggested that she might start by observing the one race that is very open about their worship of a demon; the Gnolls! Of course, since the end of the the War of Secession there are few Gnolls anywhere in Imperial Lands but Professor Caldus has heard rumours that they might be found in greater numbers in the kingdom of Thorast.

And so our newly-formed group get passage on a ferry and head to Aanvang Island, the nearest port of Thorast.
