Price List

From Oberon_wiki

It's not possible to give a full price list for all goods on this site, but it is possible to determine a rough "conversion factor" between common costs.

Does 1 Unari equal 1sp or not?

Kinda. Most of the time at least – it depends on the type of goods.

For ‘mundane’ items that the average man in the street has little need for, such as spell books, the supply to demand ratio makes the conversion rate range from 1 silver/unari, up to about 3 silver/unari. The value in unari is often less than you would expect from a straight 1:1 conversion.

Weapons are relatively plentiful among the populace as so many people serve in the Imperial Army and retain their gear after their service ends. These items are often passed on to relatives and tend to last for multiple generations. Hence the exchange rate for these items is a fairly consistent 1.6 silver/unari for items of around 30gp value, dropping to about 1 silver/unari for more expensive weapons.

For armour, fur and leather is plentiful and so the exchange rate is about 1.5 silver/unari. Steel is less easy to obtain and most armourers are in the employ of the Empire so good armour is rarer and hence the 1:1 conversion holds up better. Only at plate armour does the conversion rate drop to 3 silver/unari - plate armour is difficult to make but also not useful to most people.

So 1 Unari ranges from 1 to 3 silver, but does often equal 1 sp.
