Nearly a half-day's walk east of Wayfarer's Rest is the relatively unassuming village of 'Stiks'.

Until the latter half of the 1100's IE this village was one of the last strongholds of the worship of the god Loki. However, after centuries of random misfortunes the populace revolted against the priests running the local temple and converted, nearly entirely, to the worship of Demeter.

Since that time the populace have enjoyed bountiful harvests and good health. This has made he people of 'Stiks' some of the happiest in the entire Empire and they welcome visitors as if they were members of their own family.

This almost unnatural pleasantry though has lead to a popular drinking game in Wayfarer's Rest called "Sticks to Stiks". In this game each participant would have to give an example of what they would do to the populace of Stiks given sufficient wood (sticks). If a participant cant think of anything within ten seconds they have to drink a pint of ale.

Stiks has only inn - "The Pheasant Plucker". the populace are so nice that they can't see why this may be amusing.
