Ranst

Location

Ranst is a port on the east coast of Aanvang Island.

Population

As of the year 343IC, Heerlen has a population of about 700 people although various ships crews can easily push this to closer to a 1000 when the port is busy. slightly exceeding 1200 people. Humans are the predominant race in Heerlen although nearly 10% are Dwarves. A handful of High Elves and Gnomes also make this town home.

Description

The port is smaller than the town of Heerlen but the harbour can berth moderate sized ferries and merchant vessels. It's a common stopping-off point for vessels heading to and from the west coast of Thorast.

Defences

Ranst has no defences of its own but as a port there are often sea-going vessels harboured that can take the townsfolk to safety.

If necessary, some military force can be requested from Fort Aanvang.

The main beer for sale is "Nozrik's Finest" which is brewed at "The Grab and Run" in Heerlen by Nozrik himself.
