Dominus

The power centre of the Merebian Empire is the land known as “Dominus”. As well as consisting of a number of small islands, this country also has the largest single landmass in the whole of the Empire with an area greater than that of the entire United Kingdom. It is a predominantly a lush, forested region and was once the home of the Elves on Terearth but since they departed to the lands of the Fae it has been claimed by the Empire.

The capitol city is called “Cinnibar” and, oddly, this is not the fist city in the Empire to be called this. The original “Cinnibar” was in the Forgelands but was abandoned when most of that land sunk beneath the sea. The current Cinnibar is built around the ruins of the Elven city of Qualinost and a lot of the architecture in the middle of the city has Elves influences. The outskirts of Cinnibar though are noticeable for its impressive villas and estates.

The people of Dominus are still referred to as Merebians even though that land hasn’t existed for hundreds of years.

Merebians are considered the most cultured people of the human races and possess many of the traits of the other human races but in a more balanced proportion.

The forests of Dominus are still home to many other “fae” races such as centaurs, satyrs, dryads and treants. However, as the Empire cuts down these forests for timber and to build settlements, these “fae” races are becoming far more reclusive.

Physically, Merebians are dark-haired with tanned skins. Many Merebians have “Roman noses”.
