The Ogres on Terearth are large (2.25m/7.5 feet tall) humanoids that have resided in Imperial lands since the end of the 10th Century IE.

Initially the Ogres crossed over to Imperial lands at the point where Chundria met the 'Dark Kingdoms' (what is now Lucienia). This crossing point no longer exists but many Ogres still live along the easternmost coast of Chundria. After nearly two decades of problems the Empire came to an agreement with the Ogres, allowing them to stay in Chundria as long as they fought for the Empire when required.

Although they have been used by the Empire as shock troops and brute squads they are not, by nature, an evil or even particularly violent race. OIn fact, most Ogres are quite content to lead an egrarian lifestyle and avoid combat wherever possible. Unfortunately Ogres share a common trait with Orcs which is a tendency to become easily enraged. It is this trait that gives the Ogres their fearsome reputation.

It should be noted that Ogres and humans, whilst they may be physically compatible, are not known to be capable of producing offspring. Heroes with claims that they are 'half-Ogre' may just be a way to single themselves out, especially if they have great physical strength. A notable example of this phenomena is Boris the Ax.
