The term 'Celestial' has two distinct meanings in the world of Oberon:

  • It is a term for an object in the night sky ("the moon, Puck, is the largest celestial object")
  • It is the collective term for the creatures known more properly as Angels and Eidolons

The latter meaning is the one under discussion on this page.

Celestials are the physical and moral opposite to that other group of other-worldly creature, Fiends. Although both are primarily interesting in harvesting the souls of the dead, Celestials do so to power huge trans-planar edifices, pathways and weapons. The exact nature of how a Celestial uses a harvested soul depends on which sub-type the Celstial belongs to and how far up their respective hierarchy they are.
