Stiks is a village in Thorast.
Location
Just over 12km due East of Wayfarer's Rest is the relatively unassuming village of 'Stiks'. The village has the 'honour' of being the most northern, non-military settlement in the whole of the Kleinius Vale.
Population
As of the last census, the village of Stiks has a population of 250, making it just a little larger than Blackroot. The racial demographics are 90% Humans, 5% Dwarves and 5% Gnomes.
Description
Until the latter half of the 2nd century IC this village was considered 'cursed' by dozens of seemingly of random misfortunes. The populace blamed this on the priests running the local temple to Pan and converted, nearly entirely, to the worship of Demeter instead.
Since that time the populace have enjoyed bountiful harvests and good health. This has made the people of 'Stiks' some of the happiest in the entire Empire and they welcome visitors as if they were members of their own family.
This almost unnatural pleasantry though has lead to a popular drinking game in Wayfarer's Rest called "Sticks to Stiks". In this game each participant would have to give an example of what they would do to the populace of Stiks given sufficient wood (sticks). If a participant cant think of anything within ten seconds they have to drink a pint of ale.
Defences
Stiks has no walls or Town Watch. It relies upon nearby Wayfarer's Rest and Shadowfell Keep for defence.
Inns and Taverns
Stiks has only inn - "The Pheasant Plucker". the populace are so nice that they can't see why this may be amusing.
Notable Places
Sticks only has two notable places to outsiders: the inn and the temple to Demeter.
