Location
Retreat is a small town, approximately midway between Winterhaven to the West and Wayfarer's Rest to the East. Either of these two locations are easily within a day's walk, Winterhaven being slightly closer at about 14km away.
Population
At the last census Retreat had a recorded population of 800 which officially makes it a "Town" rather than a "village"

Retreat also has a "beacon tower" - essentially a wooden tower on top of which a ring of torches can be mounted and lit. This is only lit if the town requires assistance from it's neighbours and this can also be seen at nearby Shadowfell Keep.
