Location
The small fishing town of Heidel is located at the northmost tip of Aanvang Island.
Population
As of 343 IC, the town's population is about 500 people, nearly all of which are Human, and most are employed either directly or indirectly with the fishing industry.
Description
The town of Heidel is based around a traditional market square, near to its 'harbour' (actually a series of wooden jetties, one of which is large enough to accommodate the ferry). The buildings are typical one-story wooden constructions, with the occasional building being two-story.
It's a quiet place, with no town guard although Fort Aanvang is close enough to be contacted is serious problems arise.
Inns and Taverns
There are a half-dozen taverns in town but only one inn: The Salty-Sea-Dog
Notable places
Heidel has one 'tourist attraction': The tomb of Pallon the Pious. The entrance to this tomb is cut into a bluff about 3/4 of a kilometer to the west of Heidel's 'harbour' and is best reached by row-boat. There is a service run by Old Harry Haddock where, for a small fee and couple of pints of ale, he will row parties of up to six people out to the tomb.
