In most small towns and villages there is a communal toilet, which is usually little more than a shed with a hole inside. In major towns and cities though the toilets are large, communal areas with moderately comfy seats, wash basins and (for a small price) the option of a wash-stick.

Of course, toilets aren't just about bodily functions. Most toilets are actually run by an association tanners guilds and farmers who can use the 'products' produced. Urine is an especially effective bleach whilst faeces can be converted into manure. Hence many toilets are also profitable ventures!
