At the far eastern end of the pass that runs through the Hammer Peaks between Hammer Hold and Overlook is the dwarven-run garrison of Bordrin's Watch.
This garrison exists for two main purposes;
- to create a 'control point' for the pass, protecting it from enemies of both the Dwarven people and the Merebian Empire
- to provide military cover for the nearby city of Overlook
Built soon after the Orc invasion of 1019 IE this garrison holds a standing force of 500 soldiers which, for the most part, also double as Overlook's town watch. However the garrison has maximum capacity of just under two thousand soldiers (equivelent to 4 Imperial Army cohorts) making it potentially one of the largest forts in the whole of Thorast.
