This 'keep' is actually a moderate sized fort, situated approx 45 kilometres north-east of Brindol and about 8 kilometres south of Wayfarer's Rest.
The 'keep' (as it is known locally) is responsible for the safety of the roads, town and villages in it's immediate catchment area, which extends to a radius of about 35 kilometres. Hence it is also responsible for the towns of Retreat and Winterhaven.
