Chundria is a kingdom situated to the far west of the Empire, between Kalevala and Alea'Zhim.

Geography

It is a little larger than Academia but whereas Academia is a beacon of scholarly excellence, Chundria is the primary producer of grains (maize, wheat, barley). Most of this is due to its unusually fertile soil but also due to its natural geography.

Demographics

The people of Chundria are Humans who call themselves "Chundrites", and are characterised by their fair skin and slightly flat faces. Chundrite women have a reputation for being somewhat “plain”. Over 80% of the population of Chundria are natives Chundrites.

The next most populous race is Ymirkin (6%). Smaller populations of other races also reside in Chundria such as Dwarves (4%), Elves and Gnomes (3% each), and a smattering of Minotaurs and Ogres from Minosha.

Economy

Chundria is, basically, a land of fields. It has few forests, no mountains, some lakes, plenty of rivers and ideal conditions for growing. It is for this reason that many poor people head to the land, seeking to obtain a plot of land and carve out a life. The soil of Chundria is so fertile that fields only need to be left fallow one year in 10 and so a vast amount of produce for the rest of the Empire is grown here.

Notable Places

The capital city of Chundria is Bervoshe.

Notable People

Politics

Chundria became part of the Merebian Empire in 180 IC, after the Empire spent decades protecting it from attacks by Kalevala. The Enmpire had, in effect, been an occupying force for some time before Chundria was 'claimed' as an Imperial Province.

During the War of Secession (305 IC - 314 IC), until the signing of Treaty of the Eight Thrones, Chundria was occupied by The Alliance of Independent Races under the command of the General.

This, coupled with fact that Chundria is a vital resource for the Empire is why there are 6 legions permanently station here (the 25th, 28th, 46th, 50th, 51st and 53rd).
