Born sometime around 50 BI, Darameus rose to power as ruler of the city-state of Merebia. Historians recall that Darameus was a leader, visionary, megalomaniac and psychopath (in no particular order) and soon he desired to rule over not just his own state but other all of the city-states of Dominus.
Darameus waged a number of brutal campaigns, laying siege to other cities across Dominus. With each victory his power and hold over the continent grew. Finally, in 2 BI his forces besieged the lands of the Draco. Although he claimed that he secured a victory against them it was the plague that ravaged the city of Dracos which truly swung the siege in Darameus' favour.
With his campaign against the other city-states complete he was crowned 'Emperor', renamed the continent to 'Dominus' and set in place the controls and government system that exists today.
Although there is no record of Darameus wanting to expand beyond Dominus, subsequent Emperors have used his methods of assimilation to expand the Empire to other continents.
Darameus died in 12 IC and was succeeded by his daughter, Livia, who became the first Empress.
