Fort Viridian is home to the 5th cohort of the 62nd Imperial Legion (about 500 men), and as such is capable of patrolling an area only about one-third the size of the outpost at [[Shadowfell Keep]]. Due to this there are many towns and villages near the fort which actually fall outside of the area which they can regularly patrol.
