Most humans then have the attitude of "let's be civil but keep a close eye on them" to Eladrin. Hence Eladrin may encounter anything from thinly veiled suspicion to fairly blatant hostility from the populace. However the "official" stance is that Eladrin are allies of the Empire and so, with the authorities at least, Eladrin can be fairly certain of being treated equally to humans.
Elves and Gnomes appear to innately mistrust Eladrin and many will refuse to associate with them due to their long history.

Eladrin are a race of mystical humanoids that are native to the “Fae-realms” the lands that lay on the other side of "the Green Veil".

Despite a strong physical similarity, Eladrin don’t like to be referred to as “Elves”. In fact Eladrin are as much like Elves as Gnomes are; they are pointed-eared denizens from the same otherworldly plane and that is all. Many Eladrin view the comparison to Elves much as modern humans would view being referred to as “ape” – many will tolerate it the name if uttered through ignorance but will point out that it is not accurate.

Eladrin are relatively new to Oberon and still very few in number. Those that have settled claim that they are "exiles" from Fae-realms or escaping the same totalitarian rule as the Elves and Gnomes.

Those Eladrin that live on Oberon prefer to make their home in naturally mystical regions of Erganth, where the barriers between Oberon and the fae-realms are the weakest. However, Eladrin can be found throughout the Imperial lands, often in the employ of the Cerulean Chancery.

All Eladrin can speak the Imperial language of “High Merebian” although they 'joke' that it is little more than a series of grunts and whistles. The Eladrin language is known as “Sidhe” (pronounced “Shee”).

It has been observed that Eladrin can interact with the “Green Veil” in order to give them a limited “teleport” ability. However, the farther an Eladrin is away from Erganth the more difficult using this ability seems to be.

Perceptions of Eladrin

The Humans of the Merebian Empire still don't know what to think of Eladrin. They look like Elves; they act like Elves; they use magic and can teleport - yet they claim to not BE "Elves". Elves and Gnomes appear to innately mistrust Eladrin and many will refuse to associate with them due to their long history.
