Davinia is the eldest heir to the Imperial throne; the daughter of Emperor Ephestus and Aurelia (cousin of Leopold II of Thorast).
Merebian law permits there to be an Empress if the present Emperor has no direct male heirs (as with Emperor Darameus) OR if the current Emperor directly nominates a specific heir. Hence, although Davinia is the eldest child of Emperor it is her brother Gaius who will inherit the Imperial throne.
