House Eliades

House Eliades is probably the best known and most influential of all of the noble houses of Bal-Morath.

Identity

House Eliades is geographically based close to the centre of Bal-Morath and, as is typical, is entirely Tiefling. House Eliades is pretty much the epitome of typical Tiefling-ness.

Wealth

House Eliades are, most likely, the wealthiest of all the noble families. They are also the masters of diversification and self-promotion, having interests in practically every industry but also positioning themselves as the "highest quality" provider of each. They are the Harrods/Prada/Rolex/Ferrari of suppliers of the goods they produce and as such are positively viewed by the 'normal people' as they could never afford the goods that Eliades trades in and so they believe that the actions of Eliades do not impact them.

Politics

House Eliades is a 'soft' power in that it never directly seeks to flaunt its power and doesn't seek to get its members elected to the council. However, whenever any vote is made it seems that it always has at least a neutral outcome for the fortunes of House Eliades (and more often beneficial) although no-one is entirely sure how this may have come about.

House Eliades is a fiercely nationalistic House and although it never outright states that it is opposed to being part of the Empire the sentiment is often there whenever any member of the house produces an opinion.

Effectively every house is neutral towards Eliades and Eliades is neutral towards them. In practice though Eliades just considers every other house unimportant - they see themselves are the 'true' Bal-Morathians and worthy of the respect, if not outright worship, of everyone else.

Notable People

House Eliades has had many notable people in its long history, including Isaura Eliades, the Paladin of Zeus who lead a cohort of hand-picked Tiefling soldiers against the General's forces in the last war. Isaura was said to have slain nearly 1000 of the General's men over a three-day battle before summoning the wrath of Zeus himself upon her enemies. Other members of House Eliades have similar stories of great heroism and patriotism attached to them.
