Session 27: "The Road to Hell is Paved with Good Intentions"

46th Decembus 343IC

• Io Sincere and Roric Pinethorn visit the Cerulean Chancery bearing a message for Chancellor Direforge
• Direforge reads message and agrees to dispatch the Echespalus to deal with the devils plaguing Lyrazante
• Io and Roric are requested to report on the actions of Scylla and Gnarvak on the 51st Decembus
• Direforge speaks to Scyall, Gnarvak, Io and Roric and tells them that he needs more info on the Mafistos. Suggests telling them about a fake project (Project: Blob)
• The Mafistos request the group's presence at a dinner party where they meet Sir Piers de Lavison

47th Decembus 343IC

• The Mafistos "suggest" that the group should protect Sir de Lavison against any attacks by thieves (but most definitely NOT kill anyone)
• Shockingly, de Lavison is attacked but a well-placed "Calm Emotions" spell saves the day
• de Lavison discovers that his house had been burgled

48th Decembus 343IC

• de Lavison reports that very little was stolen but he has lost a brooch that his late wife was fond of
• the Mafistos suggest that the group speak to "Shilling" - a Dwarven 'fence' working for the local Thieves' Guild

Session 29: "Fangs for the (Nightmarish) Memories"

48th Decembus 343IC

• The group speak to "Shilling" at a local tavern called "The Dagger"
• Shilling directs them to a Gnome thief called "Rigsby" who can be found at "the Meathouse" (the mass burial chamber for paupers)
• After speaking to the staff at the temple of Hades the Meathouse is entered
• The Meathouse is 'occupied' by a group of vampires, lead by none other than Gustov von Zarovich!
• A fraught battle ensues, ending in a gas-fuelled corpse explosion

Session 30: “The Mafisto Job, pt. II - Ignorance is Bliss”

48th Decembus 343IC

• The group tend to their wounds post-battle
• After a brief conversation in "the Elf's Head" our heroes report in to the Mafistos
• The brooch is returned to de Lavison. In return a request is made to consider Lord Winterhaven's application to become a diplomat is to considered
• Scylla and Gnarvak speak to Harcout to enquire about making a fake "Golem Arm"

49th Decembus 343IC

• Scylla and Gnarvak check in on progress on the Golem arm

50th Decembus 343IC

• Gnarvak reveal that he's been pursuing a Hezrou (a "Type II" demon) for some time
• A fake Golem arm (and foot) is obtained for delivery to the Mafistos who tell the party to return later for dinner
• The group are introduced to Lord Leandro Sarris, a Bal-Morathian Human, the fiancé of Orianna, and their "superior" in the Cult of Zariel
• After confirming that the party have passed the three tests set out for them, Sarris welcomes them into the Cult
• Sarris explains that he is seeking a devil that can remove the "affliction" of being Tieflings from Bal-Morathians

Session 32: “Getting 'the Hell' out of Broogen”

51st Decembus 343IC

• Io and Roric report to Direforge and get paid
• The entire group report to Direforge on the plans of the Cult of Zariel
• Direforge wants the group to capture the Erinyes that Mordekai claimed "cured" him. A Type C containment unit is sent to Qualinost
• The group also receive a 'voucher' for one free teleport from the local "Teleport Hut®"
• The Chancery initiates the "Hades Protocol"
• A fond farewell is given to the Mafistos
• Mordekai tells the group that he encountered the Erinyes at a shrine near the Elven village of Argwylon
• Scylla makes a trip to the Temple of Athena
• The landlord was told about the sudden vacating of the apartment
• A trip to the accountant revealed that Gerlin's daughter, Gertrude, was one of the people arrested when the Cult of Damona was closed down. Gerlin asks the group to intervene before she is executed for treason.
• Our heroes managed to secure Gertrude's and Wolfgang's release by trading the core from the 'Daughter of Orcus'. Klaus, unfortunately, was not so lucky.
• Our team teleport out of Broogen, not (as expected) to Qualinost, but to Overlook

Session 34: “Overlook, Underlook, Wombling Free!”

51st Decembus 343IC

• Having arrived during a snow storm the group drink at the Gilded Stein and partake of "Grenville's Overlook Destroyer"

52nd Decembus 343IC

• The investigation begins. Visits to the temples registry and library are undertaken
• The SDS, led by Agent Darkspear, warn Gnarvak off his current path
• Agent Darkspear unfortunately reveals that he's working for Agent Megadeath. Is replaced by Agent Hardkill

53rd Decembus 343IC

• Upon returning to the temple of Dumathain, Gnarvak is handed a note that tells him to investigate the Monastery of the Unbroken Chain

54th Decembus 343IC

• Ambush in the mountains! A rascally group of Orc bandits attempt to rob the party and pay instead with their lives

Session 36: “Bag-thax-a-lozz-o-nan-a-lop-bam-boom!”

• The group continue on to the Monastery of the Unbroken Chain
• When they arrive they discover that the monastery is a 'front' for the Cult of Orcus
• After dispatching the cult members the group encounter Blood Priest Azureton who gives his life to summon the Hezrou, Bagthaxalozznan
• Gnarvak and Scylla join forces to banish this demon

Session 37: “Infuriated Io: Beyond Thunderdome”

• After barricading the white portal the group rest but Roric finds a hawk has come through (and died)

55th Decembus 343IC

• Our heroes bravely decide to take the trip through the (failing) black portal
• On the other side they find themselves in one of the pocket dimensions of the Shadowfell, overlooking the settlement of Umbraforge
• After learning that "emotional connection" is a "currency" they are befriended by Vivian von Weber who provides assistance (and tea)
• In order to use the white portal the party make a deal with D'Sarshan (the de facto ruler of Umbraforge)
• Io fights Tregor the Immortal (a plate armour clad Troll)
• Despite being magically assisted by her teammates it's a close fight but Io is victorious
• D'Sarshan keeps his word and the group use the portal in "the White Shrine" to return to Oberon

58th Decembus 343IC

• Upon return to their home plane our heroes learn that time works differently in the Shadowfell and that 3 days have passed

Session 38: “Cold Cavern Cadaver Combat Conundrum”

• Before our heroes can get a rest they are interrupted by Bruman Copperkettle who states that the SDS are on their way to arrest them
• Bruman reveals that he knows of a set of caverns nearby that they could hide in
• The group, although suspicious, follow. Sure enough it turns out to be a trap
• The party then face Blood Cardinal Warlock and two groups of Dwarf soldiers
• When the soldiers (inevitably) die Warlock raises them all as skeletons
• Warlock, fearing defeat escapes leaving the group to fight two dozen skeletons

59th Decembus 343IC

• The team, after an night camped out in the mountains, finally return to Overlook
• Gnarvak completes his quest, receives a 'boon' from Dumathain and ponders the future
• Io buys a LOT of ball bearings

60th Decembus 343IC

• Terrible news: Emperor Ephestus is DEAD! (note: not murdered)
